What’s Your Goal? Everyone has a Goal. Right?

Did you know that people who write down their goals earn nine times as much over their lifetime as the people who do not? I read a statistic the other day that 80% of all Americans don’t have goals. Sixteen percent have goals but, they are not written down. Less than 4% of all Americans write down their goals, and less than one percent actually reviews those goals on an ongoing basis.

I am floored. I am a goal oriented person and have been since I can remember. I have goals, my team has goal, my company has goals, and my husband and I have goals. In fact, my team has daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals. We even have yearly goal boards that we create from old magazines and hang in our offices. We are so goal oriented at Dallas Employment it isn’t even funny. That doesn’t mean that we always accomplish our goals in the time-frame we thought but, we have them!

How do you create your goals? Where do you start and how do you do it?

I would start with a list. What do you want? What do you want to have? What do you want to do? Who do you want to be? How do you want to feel or look? Where would you like to travel? What do you want to accomplish today, tomorrow, next year, 5 years from now, 10 years? What do you want to accomplish over your lifetime? Haven’t ever thought about it? Try it. Start thinking about your goals today. Just thinking about your goals puts you ahead of 80% of all Americans. Make your lists your dreams and make your dreams your goals. You can do it, I believe in you.

If you don’t have a goal how will you ever accomplish it?
